Learn "Burrowology" with The Creature Teacher. In
this show, we'll tell you why and how certain animals dig holes, burrows and underground tunnels. We'll also tell you what
kind of burrows are dug and body characteristics of digging creatures. A few of the animals you might learn about in this
show are: Black Tailed Prairie Dog- an expert
digger with elaborate tunnels and listening posts Sulcata
Tortoise-large, strong front legs and sharp sharp claws aid this animal in digging 10 feet deep Budgetts Frog-this animals uses a spur on his hind feet and burrows
in backwards Sea Urchin- no arms or legs so
this creature uses 5 self sharpening teeth Barred Tiger
Salamanders-nocturnal animals with sensitive skin, burrows aid in protection and keeping cool and moist Domestic Rabbit-digs a multi-chambered warren for protection and cooling

muscles in their body wall they push forward and widen holes at the same time African Pygmy Hedgehog- uses its snout to push soil and kick out dirt with its legs Hermit Crabs-by dragging water in their shells and dribbling it on sand,

Blue Caecilian- uses special bones in its head and anchors hind end in position Rose Haired Tarantula- uses its web to help excavate and drag soil to another location African Bullfrog- envelopes itself in a coccoon while underground during
the dry season Emperor Scorpions- with many
legs and a strong tail these animals are expert diggers
