FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

"Robyn, you did a wonderful job. We were very impressed with the show. I can not begin to say enough good things! Make sure to stay in business for the next 5 years at least, that way when our baby turns six, we can book you again!!" Shana King, Arlington, 2009

How old do children need to be to attend the show?

All shows presented by The Creature Teacher are intended and designed for children 3 years of age and older. We realize as a parent or instructor you would like to see all children participate in the program however after many years of being a wildlife educator we do make age restrictions for the health and safety of your child as well as the animals. We recommend that children under 3 years of age DO NOT ATTEND THE SHOW for the following reasons:
  • they tend to have high, shrill voices and sudden movements that scare the animals sensitive eyes and ears
  • the content of shows is too difficult for their level of comprehension and attention span is at a minimum
  • they tend to pull on hair and tails rather than pet gently
  • they are not able to use hand sanitizer or wash with soap and water on thieir own without assistance
  • they have difficulty sitting cris-cross applesauce
  • it is not fair to allow some children to pet while others only get to watch

We appreciate your cooperation on this matter and should infants and toddlers be present at your party or school function, please provide them with an age appropriate activity in a separate area away from the show.

Which animals are appropriate for a specific age group or birthday party?

All of our animals are well suited for any and all age groups from 3 yrs old to 100. We recommend you, the birthday child or school teacher choose which animals you think would be the most interesting.  When choosing animals for your show please take into consideration your classroom lesson plan, or what animals may or may not be frightening to younger audiences. Or maybe you just want the most exotic, creepiest, ugliest and scariest...we can do that do. Pick any animals you want from any category. They are all fascinating, delightful and intriquing!!
