  • We ask many varied, brain-teasing and fun questions. Your audience supplies the answers
  • One child will be called upon to come up front with The Creature Teacher and hold each one of the animals for photo opportunies and a small discussion

In addition:

  • Groups of less than 35 persons: everyone in the audience will be able to touch all of the animals
  • Groups of 40-300 persons: the entire audience will have an opportunity to touch ONE animal at the end of the show

Olivia, New Zealand White Rabbit

We'll see animals that live right here in Texas & the US, mimic native Texas animals or commonly kept as pets. We'll learn the difference between frogs and toads, salamanders and newts, rodents and lagomorphs, and turtles, terrapins and tortoises. Animals in this show may include: Black-Tailed Prairie Dog, Domestic Rabbit, Leopard Frog, American Toad, Barred Tiger Salamander, Box Tortoises, Guinea Pig, Hairless Guinea Pig, Milk Snake, Albino Yellow Rat Snake, Richardson Ground Squirrel, Purple Pincher Hermit Crabs, and Texas Tan Tarantula. Among the termiologies covered are:

  • brumate
  • crepuscular
  • poisonous v. venomous
  • lagomorph
  • exoskeleton
  • migrate
  • incubate 

Creatures of the Sea

This is a 45 minute show that includes 6 sea life specimens that once inhabited the ocean. You may choose from 12 including but not limited to: Sting Ray, Star Fish, Sea Horse, Puffer Fish, Sand Dollars and much more!  Due to the delicate and fragile nature of the specimens, touching is not permitted but audiences will be allowed to get a close up view of all the "animals" at the end of the show. Among the terminolgies covered are:
  • regenerate
  • echinoderm
  • fish
  • noctural

Creatures of the World

We will start with an animal that is a Texas native and continue viewing different animals from various regions of the world ending in Australia. We'll also cover the smallest and largest of each species and see photographs of these particular animals (Example: the smallest rodent in the world is the Pgymy Jerboa which is only 1 inch long but can jump 10 feet in a single leap!). Animals in this show may include: Milk Snake, Spiny Tailed Lizard, Chinchilla, Guinea Pig, Sugar Gliders, Walking Stick Bugs, Rose Haired Tarantula, African Bullfrog, Australian Bearded Dragon, Barred Tiger Salamander and Blue Tongued Skink.  Among the terminologies covered are:

  • hibernate
  • camouflage
  • regenerate
  • extinct & endangered
  • marsupial

Just make sure both libraries are in close proximity to one another (within 20 miles) and you'll mileage fee will be cut in half!!
