Humans communicate with other humans by using body gestures and making sounds just to name a few. Most animals use these senses as well but some animals also use really unique and unusual behaviors to communicate that humans are not capable of using. These features (and some possible animals) include:

  • Lateral Lines- fish (dried), frog, salamander
  • Bioluminescence- scorpion (does not light up but will glow under black light)
  • Jacobson Organs/Chemical Communication- snakes, sugar gliders
  • Venom/Poison- spider, scorpion, toad, puffer fish (dried), sea urchin (dried)
  • Electrical Signals/Electrical Fields-ray, fish (dried)
