Smooth Sided Toad

No touch toad

This toad is native to northern South America, where they live in the forest and hunt for food.  They love to eat insects, fish, and earthworms.

At maturity, this toad will be up to 9” in length. Toads have dryer skin and eyes on the sides of their hears, rather than on the top like frogs.

*Fun (not so fun) fact: The bulges behind their eyes are toxin glands. They are harmless unless ingested.  We wear gloves when handling, just to be safe.
