Blue-Tongued Skink

Blue-Tongued Skink

Blue-Tongued Skink

Great for all ages!

These docile lizards are not only beautiful, but very well mannered.  They are native to Australia and are the largest of the skink family.  They love to eat crickets, worms, roaches, veggies and dog food.

Skinks hunt during the day and sleep at night.  They have slick scales that feel much like a waterhose.  Blue tongued skinks have tiny legs, almost no claws, and small teeth. Their best line of defense is Sticking their blue tongues out at their predators to scare them away.

*Fun Fact: the Aussies call them blueys and love finding them around their gardens.
