Banded Hognose Snake

Banded Hognose Snake

Banded Hognose Snake

Great for all ages.

Hognose snakes are known for their turned up, hog-like noses. Although some species come from North America, the banded hognose is a native to South America.

This snake relies on mimicry to protect themselves.  Closely resembling the venomous coral snake, they are able to trick their predators into believing they are very dangerous. This guy is small, but super chill.

*Fun fact: hognose snakes have fangs in the backs of their throats that help in stunning their prey.
