Scorpions!

Best for ages 5 and up! No touch!

We keep a variety of different scorpions in our inventory. We have Asian forest scorpions, emperor, and hairy desert scorpions. All have venom, and are definitely “no touch” animals (except for your Creature Teacher).  

The emperor and the Asian forest scorpions are two of the largest species in the world. These arachnids love to eat crickets, grasshoppers, and cockroaches.  The females carry their babies on their backs until they get large enough to go off on their own.

*Fun fact: all true scorpions have a protein in their exoskeletons that reacts with the UV rays of the moon, which turns the protein to light. Scientists have proven that scorpions will stay hidden in a full moon.
