Red Eyed Tree Frog

Red Eyed Tree Frog

NO TOUCH!

The red eyed tree frog is one of the most recognizable frogs of all the species.  Their giant red eyes are used to scare away predators. They are nocturnal and turn a very dark green in the dark.

Native to Central America and Mexico, these frogs hang out in the canopy of the rainforest. They are dependent on a water source to keep their skin moist.

This is a no touch animal due to their high susceptibility to bacteria. If we have any germs on our hands, we can be dangerous to these beautiful creatures. They are amazing to see, but not handle. They also require warm, moist climates, so they we do not take them out in the winter months.
